Combining Coulomb blockade and piezoelectricity in nanoparticle-polypeptide hybrid materials

Description : The COCOPIE projects lies at the interface between two fields of materials science, combining the physico-chemistry of peptidic polymers and of NP arrays. The originality of our approach consists in combining properties of both, for elaborating functional responses in charge transport. Modulation of charge transport in NP arrays where mechanical strain comes from inside the materials, i.e. from modification of the organic parts still has to be investigated. We will first have to synthesize the hybrid materials, structured as much as possible, and to describe their electrical behaviour. Then, stimulation by mechanical stress will be studied by impedance spectroscopy.
